There’s nothing quite like a sunset on the sand for this Oregon coast elopement session. The cool breeze from the ocean was perfect for snuggling up close together and getting romantic. Amanda, the bride added a cozy sweater over her dress to keep warm and this whole evening was basically a fairytale. Oregon elopements are always amazing but the beach adds on another bit of spice. The coat is one of the best places to elope.
Oregon Coast: Cape Kiwanda In Pacific City
Oregon is known as the “Iceland of America.” I think that’s a pretty apt description because it seems like every corner you turn there’s another breathtaking view. The PNW has it all. From mountains to beaches with black sand, to desert, to moody forests. I’m honestly surprised more people don’t realize how gorgeous the state can be for weddings and elopements. There are so many Oregon elopement locations for you to choose from.
This beach at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City, Oregon is situated right on the edge of the highway that runs along the coast. The parking lot was filled with cars, but we didn’t feel crowded. There’s a cute little crab shack nearby for when you’re all done playing and want something that hits the spot. We only stayed here for about 30 minutes because we were rushing to our last stop for the evening but I think there’s even more of this beach to explore than we did.
Elope in Oregon
It was pretty easy to get Amanda and Ryan to feel playful on the beach. There’s just something about the cool sand squishing between your toes that makes you feel like a little kid again. The Oregon coast can generally be quite chilly but if you go at the right times then the air is quite comfortable!
After they were all out of breath, we sat on the beach and waited while the sun fell below the coastline. The sky went from orange to pink to red and finally faded into a beautiful deep purple. An Oregon coast sunset is something everyone should experience. In these slow moments, you can’t help but feel happy. You can’t help but feel completely in love with the beautiful world around you. It’s one of the best places to elope.
The Earth really is pretty amazing.
Adventure in Oregon
One of my favorite things to do while driving up the Oregon coast is to pull off at random spots on the road just to see what I could find. Unlike in other places, the views aren’t hard to get to. On our trip through Oregon, we found cliffs, waterfalls, seashells, and so much more. There are hundreds of beaches in Oregon. Each one is a little bit different. Each spot on the coast has its own unique personality.
