“Romantic Pool Couple’s Session” by Oregon Elopement Photographer Black Salt Photography
There’s almost nothing better than a romantic couples session in the pool at sunset. The air is warm (or balls hot as is the norm in Las Vegas), the water is cool, and the company is perfect.
Jessica is a zero-waste, plant enthusiast out to save the world one compost bucket at a time (which basically means I’m in love with her) and Nick plays the bass for a living. They kind of sound like those couples who can afford multi-million dollar homes on IGTV, but they are one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever met.
The vision for these photos was to capture Jessica & Nicholas being in love, without obstacles. I guided them through suggestions and let them express each pose in their own way.
That’s my secret sauce: guide, don’t force.
By photographing this way, it allows you to move freely between the suggestions without feeling forced into any weird smiles. You’ll instantly feel more at ease and your photos will always come across as more genuine. I know I’ve hit the jackpot when you text me later that evening saying your partner had way more fun than they expected to. I kid you not, I have had this happen after almost every session I do. It’s so, so important for both of you to feel comfortable and to have fun. Sometimes the guy feels left out and I never want that to be the case while I’m there. I got you, and your boo, too.
