Cruz and Fern’s past 7.5 years may be a bit hazy in memory, but one vivid story stands out. Back in high school, after dating for about six months to a year, Fernando and his dad drove Cruz home one evening. Despite Cruz having a strict 7 p.m. curfew set by her aunt, they arrived back around 8 p.m. She got a severe scolding from her aunt, which left her feeling guilty. However, Fernando’s calm and understanding response surprised her. He had so much fun with her that day that facing the consequences was worth it. This story reflects their relationship well. Fernando has always been the easygoing, chill guy who rolls with the punches and is there no matter what.

Cruz and Fern went for a split coverage elopement, offering the freedom for multiple locations and unhurried, intimate moments. They initially exchanged vows on Short Beach in Oregon and later celebrated in Las Vegas with more family and friends. The goth and moody ambiance that saturated every detail of their day stole my heart. Their genuine goth grunge vibes resonated with me, and including real butterfly wings in the floral arrangements was a unique touch I hadn’t seen before. It was even more special because my husband officiated their ceremony. The entire experience felt like an adventure shared among close friends.
